How to enter a foreign address on a W2/1099?

A foreign address can be added to either a W2 or a 1099 form when applicable.

The Select the state for state filing purposes box can be ignored; it is only used to create data for state e-file submissions, it does not appear on the form itself

Entire Client has a Foreign Address

  1. Click Edit Client
  2. On the General tab, make sure City, State, and ZIP are blank
  3. Enter the Client's Foreign Country, County/Province, and Postal Code (if applicable)

One or more Employees have a Foreign Address

  1. Open the specific employee's W2/1099 form
  2. Under the address, select Foreign address
  1. Repeat for every applicable employee
