This issue may occur when you backup the database on a local drive, transfer it to removable media, and subsequently attempt to restore the backup from the removable media.
The solution is to simply move the database backup off of the removable media, to the local disk, and then attempt to restore the backup.
Procedure
- Open your File Explorer, and navigate to the location of your backup on the removable media.
- Move the backup folder from your removable media to somewhere on your PC. It is recommended to move it somewhere close to the root of a drive for an easier time locating it later.
- Restore from the backup from the new location like normal.
