TaxTools Workshop: Toolbox not updating

Problem

TaxTools Workshop is missing a Toolbox year. Most often this happens when the program has not been opened in a while.

In most cases, all you need to do is update the program and let it download the new Toolbox years.

Solution

  1. In TaxTools Workshop, click Internet Options -> Update from the Web. If you get a message saying "This program is already running the latest available version..." then no update is necessary, proceed to step 2.
Updating the program on one computer in a network configuration does not update the program on every computer, the update must be done on each workstation. If the update fails or closes prematurely, check user permissions or try running the program as admin to update successfully.
  1. Leave the program open for around 15-30 minutes. You should see a message appear saying Downloading (etc) program after a few minutes letting you know the missing Toolbox years are being downloaded.
