How to switch browsers without changing the default

Eric Updated by Eric

Windows will open a webpage using the browser that is set as its default. For example, Windows comes with Microsoft Edge as the default browser, but users may change that to be a different browser, such as Google Chrome.

When a webpage is linked to within a clickable link or button in a program, it will be opened in the default browser. If it is desired that the webpage is opened in a different browser just that one time, and changing the Windows default is not desired, follow these steps:

  1. Select the entire web address of the webpage in the address bar, then right-click on the selected text and click Copy.
  2. Open the desired browser.
  3. Right click in address bar and click Paste.
