Components of Payroll System

What do the different parts of the Payroll System do?

There are six sections of the Payroll System to consider. Click the program name for a full description and pricing.

  • LivePayroll gives you the ability to calculate and track payroll and print checks. The 941/940 is included with LivePayroll so that you can do the after-the-fact reporting as well.
  • 941/940 can operate on its own if you don't need to calculate live payroll. It allows you to do the quarterly 941 reports and the annual 940.
  • W2/1099 is for the year-end forms, including W2, W3, 1096, and 1099-NEC.
  • Payroll Corrector is used only if you need to do amended forms like 941-X and W2-C.
  • W2/1099 E-File add-on is used for E-Filing for W2s or 1099s
  • Payroll System Network Upgrade allows you to install the program on a shared location like a network or server where multiple computers can access and share data.

Do I need to buy the Payroll System Network Upgrade for every part of the Payroll System?

You only need to purchase the Payroll System Network Upgrade once for each year. You don't need to purchase a separate Payroll System Network Upgrade for each payroll module you purchase.

Can I do Direct Deposit?

Yes, LivePayroll supports Direct Deposit. See Direct Deposit in LivePayroll.

Is there a bundle or package deal?

We offer a Payroll System Suite which is a bundle of four items: LivePayroll, 941/940, W2/1099, and Payroll Corrector. For current pricing, call us.

This Suite does not include the separate W2/1099 E-File Add-On, nor the Network Upgrade.

Why don't you sell your Payroll System as a single package? Why are the components sold separately?

Our Payroll System is broken into modules: LivePayroll, 941/940, W2/1099, W2/1099 e-File Add-on, and Payroll Corrector. You only have to purchase the products that you need. You don't have to pay for modules that you don't need.

Can I just buy the 1099 or the W-2 portion of the program instead of having to buy both?

The W2/1099 module can be a stand-alone program. It includes both W-2 and 1099 series forms. Users get both, which is a very common convention since many employers/payers need to file both W-2 and 1099 returns.
