Error 3421 when Restoring Data

This error occurs when you are copying data from one computer to another by doing a backup on one and restoring on the other.

Cause

The usual cause is that the program on the computer where you made the backup is a later version than the program on the computer where you are attempting the restore. The error is caused because the data fields do not match.

Solution

The solution is to update the restore computer to the latest software version before restoring the data.

This error may also occur during recovery from a disk disaster, when the program has been installed on a new machine, and you are trying to restore from a backup made before the disaster struck. Again, the program must be updated to the latest version before restoring the data.
