Error 429: You don't have an appropriate license to use this functionality

Cause

This problem is not related to your CFS license code. It indicates some maintenance utility has caused a problem in the Windows registry for a component of the CFS program.

Solution for programs from 2009 to present

For CFS programs from years 2009 to present, use the following procedure:

  1. Use the properties of the program shortcut to find the program folder:
    1. Right-click on the program's desktop shortcut.
    2. Left-click on Properties.
    3. The "Start in:" field should show the location of the program folder.
  2. Run the workstation setup:
    1. In the program folder, find and open the WSSETUP folder.
    2. In the WSSETUP folder, find and double-click on the SETUP.EXE file.
    3. Follow the prompts to reinstall the program.

This should solve the problem.

Solution for programs from 2008 and earlier

For CFS programs from 2008 and earlier, use the following procedure:

  1. In the bottom left corner of the keyboard, the key between Ctrl and Alt is called the “Windows key.” Hold it down and tap the letter 'R.' This opens the "Run" box.
  2. In the "Run" box, type "CMD" and press Enter. This opens the black DOS box.
  3. If the operating system is:
    1. 64 bit, type the following into the DOS box: "CD \WINDOWS\SYSWOW64"
    2. 32 bit or XP, type the following into the DOS box: "CD \WINDOWS\SYSTEM32"
  4. Press Enter.
  5. Type "REGSVR32 TX4OLE.OCX" and press Enter.
    1. If you get the response, “SUCCESS,” the problem should be solved.
    2. If you get the response, “Windows cannot find…,” you probably misspelled REGSVR32. Try again.
    3. If you get the response, "failed to load," it could be because you misspelled TX4OLE.OCX or the file has been deleted from your computer. Try again.
    4. If the failure is for any other reason, you will need to uninstall the program and re-install it.
  6. Type "EXIT" and press Enter to close the DOS box.
