Import last year's 1095-B/1095-C As Is

Nina Tchistiakova Updated by Nina Tchistiakova

Background

The main Client Import from Last Year only imports recipient names and addresses. Form 1095-B and 1095-C often have covered dependent entries that do not change. That information does not import using the main client import. This function, found on the Utilities menu, imports the entire Form 1095-B and 1095-C from last year's program. The user then only needs to edit the form for this year but doesn't need to reenter the covered dependents.

How to Use the import

The import is for one client at a time.
  1. Select the client in the Client List into which the forms will import.
  2. Delete any existing Forms 1095-B and 1095-C that may be duplicates of the recipients being imported. Recipients that are new for this year and that have already been added do not need to be deleted.
  3. Click Utilities > Import Last Year 1095-B/1095-C As Is.
  4. Click Yes to the prompt.
  5. Navigate to last year's database and click Open.
  6. Select the single matching client from the list and click Next.
  7. After the import is complete, edit the forms as needed for the current year. Delete forms for old employees. Add form for new employees.
If there is an error during the import, be sure that there are not duplicate 1095 recipients (ID and name) in last year's program and there are not any duplicate 1095 recipients in the current client when importing.
