Importing from Lacerte

Eric Updated by Eric

Importing directly from Lacerte is currently available in a single-user installation (i.e. not on a network). However, clients can be imported using the CSV import if you first export your Lacerte clients into a CSV file. See Importing clients from a CSV file.
  1. Lacerte must be running in order for our importer to access its database.
  2. Install TaxTools WorkShop if it's not already installed.
  3. Launch the CFS program and login with your CFS credentials if prompted.
  4. Go to Utilities > Import > Import from Other Software > Import Clients from Lacerte 20yy.
  5. A dialog will appear prompting you to find the Lacerte DBF file. Select it and click Open.
  6. The program should determine if the Lacerte SDK needs to be installed. Follow prompts to install it. The computer might need to be restarted, after which it will request permission to run:
  7. The importer will prompt for the user's Lacerte account credentials.
  8. A dialog will appear prompting you to find the Lacerte DBF file. Select it and click Open.
  9. Select the clients to import and click Import or click Import All to import all clients.
