"User ID or Password Invalid" when attempting to log into IRS FIRE system
Problem
"User ID or Password Invalid" appears when attempting to login on the FIRE System Logon page.
Cause
Either the User ID or the password do not match IRS records.
Solution
- If you're certain your User ID is correct, use the Forgot Password link.
- If you've lost or are uncertain about your User ID, click Create New Account and start from scratch with a new User ID and be sure to input your company name correctly. See Creating an IRS FIRE account.
