Restoring from a .clad file

You can restore data from a backup in TaxTools WorkShop to rescue your clients and files in case of an emergency, or to import to other computers and networks.

To backup a file, see Performing a manual backup.
  1. Click Utilities > Backup/Restore > Restore Data From...
  2. Choose the backup file to restore and click Open.
  3. Select an option from the Restore Preparers dialog.
    If Ask each time is selected, a prompt will appear for each preparer. If No or Cancel is clicked, the preparer will not be restored.
  4. Click Restore All on the Restore Clients dialog to restore all clients from the backup file to your Client List.
    To choose a single or multiple clients, see Selecting multiple clients, then click Restore.
    Leaving the checkbox marked for Include deleted clients will restore all clients in the deleted list. They are not listed in this Restore Clients pop-up. See Deleting clients.
  5. Select an option from the Restore Clients dialog.
    If Ask each time is clicked, a prompt will appear for each client.
  6. Wait while the clients are restored.
  7. Choose an option from the Restore Client Files dialog.
    If No or Cancel is clicked, clients will not be restored.
  8. Click OK on the Restore Data dialog.
