How to assign a 1099 to the desired state

The e-File program knows which state the 1099 belongs to by selecting the state on the 1099. On the 1099 there's a drop-down box to "Select the state for filing purposes" Select the appropriate state.

If a specific state does not show up than you need to add the state to the client on the "State Setup". Please add the state even if the state does not require a 1099. The 1099 must have a state associated with it to e-File. The program knows what 1099's the states want. So if you select NY as a state then it will not show up to be e-Filed.
