If you call us for technical support…

Please be ready with your customer ID number as well as a brief description of your problem. Also be prepared to confirm your address and telephone number. In addition, having the following might help us solve your problem more quickly:

  1. The following information about your computer:
  • Operating system (Windows 10, Windows 8.1, Windows 7, Windows Vista),
  • Server, if any (Windows Server 2019, Windows Server 2016, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008),
  • Internet access (dial-up or broadband, including DSL, Cable, T1),
  • CD drive letter (frequently the D: drive, but not always),
  • Primary network drive letter, if any.
  1. If you installed from a CD, your CDs for that year and possibly the prior year.
  2. The logon name and password for administrator access. If installation of software is required, the Windows logon used must have appropriate permissions and privileges.
  3. If you are receiving an error message, write down the entire message verbatim. The details help the tech support person determine the cause of the problem.  For example:
  • error-52-bad-file-name-or-number.
  • Unspecified Error &H80004005 (-2147467259).
