Error: "The program cannot connect to the CFS server"

Christopher H Updated by Christopher H

This error typically occurs during user login. An Internet connection is required to initially activate the software. It can go without a connection for up to 30 days after that, at which point it needs to connect to the internet again.

The software is unable to connect with the CFS server on the Internet. This may be caused by your computer's clock being incorrect.

Solution 1

Sync your computers clock through the network.

  1. Right-click the clock on your desktop, and press Adjust date/time.
  2. In the Date & time menu, press Sync now.
These settings may be managed by your organization. Contact your IT Administrator if you are unable to sync your clock.

Solution 2

If an internet connection is made and your clock is correct, but the error persists, try the following:

  1. Log into the program.
  2. Leave it open for at least 10 minutes.

If the error still persists, please see Troubleshooting: Internet Connectivity.
