Error: "The program cannot connect to the CFS server"

Christopher H Updated by Christopher H

Problem

This error typically occurs during user login. An Internet connection is required to initially activate the software, and the software is unable to connect with the CFS server on the Internet.

Cause

This may be caused by your computer's clock being incorrect.

Solution 1

Sync the computer's clock through the network.

  1. Right-click the clock on the desktop, and click Adjust date/time.
  2. In the Date & time menu click Sync now.
These settings may be managed by your organization. Contact your IT Administrator if you are unable to sync the clock.

Solution 2

If an internet connection is made and the clock is correct but the error persists, try the following:

  1. Log into the program.
  2. Leave it open for at least 10 minutes.

If the error still persists, please see Troubleshooting: Internet Connectivity.
