How do I configure automatic backup?

You can use either of the two procedures below to configure CFS programs to automatically back up to a local or network drive.

You can configure the program to back up to a network drive, even if you have a single-user license.

Procedure 1

  1. In the CFS program, click on Configuration on the Main Menu bar.
  2. Put a check in the box in the bottom left corner labeled "Automatically Backup Data on Exit."
  3. Click on Save Settings and Close.
  4. Click on Utilities on the Main Menu bar and then on Backup Data or Backup Selected Clients.
  5. In the Backup dialog box, navigate to the location where you want the backup to be placed, using the Create Folder button if necessary.
  6. Click Next, then Select All and Finish.
  7. When the backup is completed, respond Yes to the "Set Automatic Backup Location?" prompt.

Procedure 2

  1. In the CFS program, click on Configuration on the Main Menu bar.
  2. Put a check in the box in the bottom left corner labeled "Automatically Backup Data on Exit."
  3. Click on Save Settings and Close.
  4. Above the Client list click on the Edit Client button.
  5. On the client dialog, click Save, then Close. This will trigger the Automatic Backup.
  6. Close the program. The "Auto Backup Location" window will be displayed.
  7. On the first line type the path to the desired backup folder. If that folder exists it must be empty or contain nothing but a previous backup.
