Question

Can I automatically backup my data to the cloud, e.g. Microsoft OneDrive, Google Drive, DropBox, etc.?

Answer

Yes. CFS software can be set to backup automatically to either the OneDrive, Google Drive or Dropbox folder when the program is closed. The respective cloud storage provider should then automatically sync the file.

Follow the steps below:

  1. Launch the CFS program and click Configuration on the menu bar at the top of the screen.
  2. Mark the Automatically Backup Data On Exit checkbox. Click Save Settings then Click Close.
  3. To trigger an automatic backup data needs to change in the software. Make an arbitrary change to some data and save the change.
  4. Exit the software. Before closing it will initiate an automatic backup and display the the current Auto Backup Location:
  5. Using the folder browser navigate to cloud storage provider's folder on your computer. By default it is a subfolder in C:\Users\[your Windows username]\. Example: C:\Users\JSmith\OneDrive
  6. In the Enter the backup directory below field, enter a path to a folder inside the cloud default folder and click OK. We recommend you also create a new folder with a name that is meaningful.
  7. If a new folder should be created click Yes if prompted.
  8. The software will now perform a data backup to the cloud folder and exit.
  9. The cloud storage provider will sync files in the backup folder to its servers shortly thereafter.
