Where is the 4th Quarter 941 module?

In 2020 and 2021, the IRS released mid-year changes to Form 941, resulting in two revisions for Form 941 for each year. For example, in 2021, there is a different form for Quarter 1 than there is for quarters 2-4. Using the wrong form will result in this error:

The IRS will reject Form 941 if the wrong form revision is used.

Creating a new Form 941 for a client for the 4th quarter

Usually, Form 941 appears but once in the Module Library.

Due to the mid-year form revision, however, each quarter of Form 941 appears in the Module Library of Payroll System. In the screenshot below, the 3rd/4th quarter one is selected.

So, to create a 4th quarter Form 941 in Payroll System:

  1. Select a client.
  2. Double-click on 941 - Employer's Quarterly Federal Tax Return... in the Module Library, noting the revision date.
