1099's with state withholding W-2G, 1099-MISC, 1099-NEC, and 1099-R

To submit other 1099 file types to the SCDOR, you must submit paper copies directly to the SCDOR along with the WH-1612.​

Transmittal form

A transmittal form is not required.

Required file name

SC1099_XX.txt where XX is the tax year.

Submitting files

SC accepts electronic filing of corrected 1099 information.
SC electronic filing of W-2 or 1099 information is for the current year and four prior years
Statements containing South Carolina Income Tax withholding must be reported directly to the SCDOR.

If you do not already have a MyDORWAY account, create one at dor.sc.gov/MyDORWAY-signup to begin submitting forms online. 

Log into MyDORWAY, click the More tab, and select either Upload W-2s or Upload 1099s.

MyDORWAY accepts the following file types in addition to the standard W-2: W-2c, W-2G, 1099-R, 1099-NEC, and 1099-MISC.

How to File an Extension

If you need additional time to file W-2 or 1099 forms, you can request a 30-day extension in writing to

the SCDOR.

You must send a letter to the SCDOR to request an extension. The letter must include your reason for requesting an extension, along with the following information:

● Tax year

● FEIN

● Withholding account file numbers

● Business mailing address

● Contact person’s name, phone number, and email address

● Verification of federal extension approval

Combined Federal/State Filing - IRIS Filing Only

The W2/1099 E-File add-on does not support the 1099 Combined Federal/State Program for FIRE submissions. For IRIS Combined Federal/State Filing Program (CF/SF) you must indicate it on the IRIS TCC Application. For additional information, see 1099 E-Filing: IRIS CSV Portal Combined Fed/State filing.

The SCDOR participates in the Combined Federal/State Filing Program for reporting non-wage statements that do not have South Carolina Income Tax withholding. Statements containing South Carolina Income Tax withholding must be reported directly to the SCDOR.
