W-2 E-Filing: Oklahoma

If any due date falls on a Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday, the return or statement is considered timely if filed or furnished on the next business day. We encourage you to file early.

It is mandatory to file all W2's electronically.

Submitting files

At this time the state does not accept prior year filing.
 State accepts electronic filing W2-C for Corrections.

To electronically file a W2 with Oklahoma you will need either a Customer Account or a Third–Party Account, in addition to an OkTAP account.

To sign up for a Third-Party (no tax account required) account: Contact the Taxpayer Assistance Division of the Oklahoma Tax Commission at (405) 521–3160 to request a BT120 form.

1. Register your business, customer or third-party account at OkTAP. Or sign up for a third-party (no tax account required) account by calling the Taxpayer Resource Center at 405-521-3160, option 6 and ask for a BT120.

2. Create an OkTAP Logon:

  • Visit OkTAP
  • Under ‘Business Login, click "Don't have a logon? Register here"
  • Follow the instructions at OkTAP

Employer: Upload files via your business OkTAP account.

1. Log into OkTAP .

2. Select the More... tab.

3. Click the W-2/1099/500 Filing Center link under the Filing Center panel.

4. Select the type of file is being uploaded.

5. Click the Add hyperlink in the Attachments section to attach your file(s). Only file(s) that pass validation will attach.

6. Click the Submit button.

For files larger than 200 MB : Send an email to Security@tax.ok.gov and ask for a Moveit account to process 1099s and IT security will get an account set up so you can upload your file. Moveit instructions can be found at this link: Moveit instructions will open in a separate document.

You may request an extension by sending email to: W2ExtensionRequest@tax.ok.gov

You will have the option to register multiple OkTAP logons for your account so your employees can upload W2s at the same time from multiple computers.
