Submitting files

Submit an EFW2C file as soon as possible after you discover an error or to correct an employee record that contains all zero’s on the SSN line.

New for DC is the web portal, we will no longer be using eTSC, but MyTax.DC.gov.  The only recommendation at this time is that you will need to sign up for MyTax.DC.gov as your eTSC credentials are no longer valid.  MyTax.DC.gov will allow you to bulk upload or online data entry.

You will no longer be able to use your social security number if you are a business/employer. OTR is requiring you to have a Federal Employer Identification Number (FEIN) beginning January 1, 2017.

EFW2C files will NOT be accepted from any employer who has not submitted an ACCEPTED EFW2 file.

Only submit a W-2C correction wage file if the original W-2 wage file has processed to Complete Status.

District of Columbia only accepts Corrections for the current tax year.

The following changes are permitted:

o Employer and employee information;

o Employer/Agent EIN;

o Employment Code;

o Tax Year;

o Employee SSN;

o Name and most money fields.
