Beginning Tax Year 2025, the BSO has new requirements for electronic submissions. If you try to create an e-file without all the required information filled out, you will receive an e-file W-2 Data Error: "Specific Information that is required to file an information return is missing. All errors must be corrected before the file can be created". Errors such as "Incorrect or Missing Employer Signer Name" will be listed:

  1. To resolve, you must enter all of the following Employer Information:
    Employer Name
    Employer Address
    Contact Name
    Contact Email Address
    Contact Phone Number
  2. Enter the information on the Client Screen (for help, see Adding or editing a client).
